Toys for Tots!

The Library is participating as a collection pick-up point for Toys for Tots donations. The collection bin is in the lobby near the hold shelves. Donations will be accepted through Friday, December 11, 2020.

Here are the guidelines for donations from Toys for Tots:

TOY GUIDELINES – New, unwrapped toys for boys and girls from newborn to age 12 will be accepted. The age groups we typically need more of are newborns and 10-12 years.  We tend to receive a lot of board games but would love to give items to older kids such as hand-held electronics, jewelry sets, cosmetics, arts and crafts, models, athletic equipment and creative/educational toys.   There are always suggestions on line with what’s popular today.

 

STUFFED ANIMALS – Because many of the social service agencies we work with do not request stuffed animals, and due to the difficulty in determining if a stuffed animal is in fact a new toy, we prefer not to receive stuffed animals. However, we don’t like to turn down fluffy donations.  Please bag your stuffed animal in a clear plastic bag before donating. 

FOOD, CLOTHING, REALISTIC LOOKING WEAPONS – If donated, such items will not be distributed.

GIFT CARDS –The acceptance of gift cards as donations is appreciated but should be avoided. However, in the event they are presented, they are used by the coordinator to purchase toys. Toys for Tots campaigns are not authorized to distribute these as gifts and are mandated to turn them into toys before distribution.
