Library Board of Trustees Vacancy

The Villa Park Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the library board through April 2027. Applicants must be Villa Park residents. Trustees work with the Library Director to help the library fulfill its mission statement:
The mission of the Villa Park Public Library is to serve the cultural, social, and community needs of a diverse population by providing equitable access to informational, educational, and recreational resources. We strive to bring people, information, and ideas together to enrich lives.
Applications will be accepted until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The library board will interview applicants on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
An informational packet that includes more details and the application form can be downloaded [here] or picked-up from the first floor Service Desk.
The term for this seat expires in 2029. Due to the timing of the vacancy and the upcoming election, applicants wishing to serve past April 2027 for the remainder of the term must file candidacy paperwork with the Village Clerk and select the unexpired two-year term. More information on that can be found in the Library Trustee section of the 2027 Candidate’s Guide on the Illinois State Board of Elections website (https://www.elections.il.gov/RunningForOffice.aspx?MID=rOlNCTNZd9A%3d)
