Villa Park Public Library is now participating in the eRead Illinois Program. The Library and the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS) have partnered with the Illinois State Library to provide access to more than 2,900 digital titles at no additional cost to our patrons. These eBooks may be downloaded to a number of devices including iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows, NOOK® and Sony Reader devices, and many more. Select the logo to access the collection.
Search for eBooks/eAudiobooks on MyMediaMall. eBooks are lent through MyMediaMall.net. Borrowing requires either an Amazon.com account (Kindle readers) or a combination of the OverDrive Media Console and an Overdrive account (all others). These accounts and the OverDrive Media Console are free. Select the logo to access the collection. For more ways to download eBooks, audio and video to your computer, eReader, or mobile device, visit OverDrive’s tutorial videos.
Instantly borrow free digital movies, music, eBooks, graphic novels, and more 24/7 with your library card using Hoopla. Use your library card to sign up at hoopladigital.com. Then log in using your PC or install the free Hoopla mobile app on your iOS or Android device. Browse, borrow, and enjoy! Select the logo to access the collection.
The library now subscribes to Zinio Digital Magazines. You can read current issues of magazines on your computer or mobile device. To access the library’s Zinio collection, to create your accounts, and to add new magazine titles, select the logo.
You will create two accounts for Zinio Digital Magazines for Libraries, one to access the library collection and a second to view the magazines in a Zinio Viewer account. The Zinio app or website is for viewing only, not checking out magazine titles. Checking out magazines requires toggling back and forth between the library site and the Zinio for Libraries app.
Once you have checked out your magazine on the library’s Zinio page, you can view the title in the Zino app or website. Download the free Zinio app to view magazines on your mobile device and log in. Select Read at the top of the page to access your library titles. Remember to return to the library’s Zinio page using the web browser whenever you wish to add new issues to your Zinio account from the library’s collection. The library collection has no checkout period or issue limit.
