A Guide to the Birds of East Africa by Nicholas Drayson. Mr. Malik is crushing on Rose Mbikwa, the leader of his bird-watching club, but finds out that a boyhood rival, Harry Khan, is also interested in her. In order to win the rights to ask Rose to the annual Hunt Club Ball, Mr. Malik and Mr. Khan enter into a contest to spot the most bird species in one week. Led by Jean Cooper.
