According to an article in the Chicago Tribune (December 11, 2013), the Mariano’s grocery chain is hosting a series of job fairs this week to staff the first five Dominick’s stores slated to reopen under the Mariano’s banner. About 250 positions are available at each location – everything from store directors to cake decorators.
The job fairs will target staffing converted Dominick’s locations on Chicago Avenue and N, Sheridan Road in Chicago, as well as suburban stores in Park Ridge, Northfield and Western Springs.

According to an article in the Chicago Tribune (December 10, 2013), a new yoga studio inside Terminal 3 offers a quiet space to meditate, stretch and take a deep breath.
The room, open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, does not come with an instructor — just mats and disinfectant wipes. Travelers may use the space for free.
Rosemarie Andolino, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation, said no tax dollars were used for the project. The rotunda at Terminal 3 is now being redesigned around a theme of green and healthy. Next to the studio, an urban garden grows vegetables that are used in airport restaurants and sold at the airport’s fresh market below.

WorkNet DuPage Career Center is offering post-layoff assistance to individuals affected by the closing of area Dominick’s stores. Services range from job search workshops to career assessments. A bi-weekly job club is available. You may also qualify for occupational training grants

This includes those laid off from any of the Dominick’s food stores in DuPage County on December 28, 2013.
This also includes those laid off from the corporate office in Oak Brook any time on or after January 11, 2014.
